Information Technology Security Maturity level attained annually

Short definition

This indicator refers to an accepted industry IT Security Maturity model for measuring the Information Technology Security level of the Information Technology environment of the WCG. (Initially the Gartner Model will be used)

Purpose

It measures the various functional activities of the IT Security Maturity landscape that contribute to improved cyber security in the WCG

IT computer users across all departments of the Western Cape Government.

The Annual Gartner Assessment Report.

Method of calculation

The Annual Gartner Assessment provides an assessment score of 1-5 in various functional activities of the IT Security Maturity landscape. The overall maturity score (average) reflects the total maturity of the ICT Security landscape of the WCG Non-cumulative. Where the reporting period is quarterly, the four quarterly targets do not accumulate all the data of successive quarters to add up to the annual target, e.g. 75%, 75%, 75%, 75%. Annual target is 75%. Where the reporting cycle is annual, there is only one target and it is therefore non-cumulative
